A bit of history:

Born in Murano in 1935, Carlo Nason comes from one of the oldest glassmaking families on the island. He grew up watching glassmakers at work in the family business and quickly recognised the enormous potential of glass as a material.

With a deep understanding of history and tradition, Carlo Nason developed an appreciation for the most refined aspects of glassmaking, while demonstrating an exceptionally innovative approach to design. He used his work as a way to explore both design processes and the possibilities of craftsmanship, technique and innovation.

The Nason Mazzega table lamp is an example of this. Between 1965 and 1980, he collaborated with Mazzega. These pieces, now out of production, are highly sought after and particularly popular at international auctions. In addition to his own work, Nason played an important role in the Mazzega glassmaking company. He was instrumental in preserving traditional techniques while exploring modern design. His work continues to inspire new generations of designers and demonstrates the importance of craftsmanship and innovation in the world of lighting design.
