A bit of history:
Angelo Vittorio Mazzega, a visionary glassmaker, founded the company in 1946 with the ambition of becoming a leading name in the world of Murano glass. Mazzega1946 has deep roots in the Venetian glassmaking tradition and has embraced the innovative techniques and bold ideas that have characterised Murano’s glassmaking heritage.
For more than seventy years, Mazzega1946 has preserved the craftsmanship and techniques of hand-blown glass while embracing innovation and contemporary design. Its collaborations with international designers and the use of distinctive forms have resulted in a wide range of striking glass lamps. These creations transcend the boundaries between art and industry, tradition and modernity.
The Murano Mazzega UFO table lamp is an excellent example of this. Mazzega Glassworks is based in Murano, Italy. Mazzega’s exceptional glassmakers, artists and designers have contributed to the spread of Murano glass throughout the world since the 20th century. Mazzega is known for its spectacular glass lamps, many of them hand-blown, as well as its striking chandeliers and pendant lights. Designers who have worked with Mazzega include Loredano Rosin, Toni Zuccheri, Aldo Nason, Carlo Nason and others. The Mazzega family tradition continues today, with a modern line of glass produced under the A.V. Mazzega name.
