A bit of history:

The first watch to use an LED (light-emitting diode) display was the Hamilton Pulsar in 1972. Bulova followed with its own Bulova Computron in 1976. The Bulova Computron was one of the first LED watches with a futuristic design. The faceted case and distinctive angular shape made it look almost like a miniature computer strapped to the wrist. It was something genuinely unusual, particularly during the 1970s.
As with many LED watches of the period, the display remains hidden until the button is pressed. If you wanted to check the time, you had to press a button to illuminate the red digits on the display.
